After finding her way to Milliways again, Iris finally learned about the rooms upstairs.

And there is a library!









A copy of Aesop's Fables gets produced for Iris, and is read several times over with great interest and confusion (at times), before really thinking about the opportunities.

"...Where could I find a scroll on...genetics?"

The book provided by the library engrosses Iris for quite some time - she gives up the attention required to hide her wings from view after the first hour.

"It's not about that."

No one else gets to see. A moment of her own.

Mouth follows hands along Charles' chest. He has river-salt skin and Iris smiles at the idea of him seeming so familiar.

"Oh," Her thought isn't loud enough for him to hear but then she's kissing him and his breath changes at her touch.

One of his hands is on her side and he clutches at her, trying to caress and hold onto control.

His walls are tightened though she might feel part of his desire before he keeps his emotions from leaking. She's made him speechless.

"No," Iris says again. "You -- did something just now. I heard you and then I didn't.

"Don't do that -- please."

[balancingminds]

"I didn't mean to let that emotion slip out like that. I'm sorry,"

He takes a moment to lean back and make certain his walls won't let anything through.

[chrysopteron]

"No -- I want that. I want to hear you.

"You don't lie. You're not pretending. I want to hear you."

[balancingminds]

That wasn't what he expected at all, he's used to keeping himself hidden away and he reaches up to touch her face,

"Truly? I wouldn't want to be too much."

Even Raven doesn't like him sharing so much with her and with Jean another psychic, there are careful lines.

He's never thought of opening himself that way during a moment like this. His walls tend to be stronger when he's sleeping with someone as he never wants to get his own feelings mixed with theirs or project too much.

"Charles. Do it."

I am a goddess. I can handle it.

"Do it, kyrios -- "

He nods and closes his eyes once more to relax his walls allowing her to feel his desire, amazement and happiness.

Then he gently kisses her, tracing the contours of her body and whispers, "Tell me if its too much."

It is the happiest emotion her mind has felt all her life.

"Please -- " Gasped out, smiling wide, one hand reaching for a belt buckle.

[balancingminds]

When she gasps, he deepens the kiss and as he holds her with one hand, shifts the other to help her with his belt buckle.

It's a scramble, vermilion thoughts intermixed everywhere and why can't Charles where a chiton like people Iris has known before?

Complexities aside, Charles' pants make for his ankles between them somehow.

"I told you it was not too much."

[balancingminds]

Soon after his underwear follows and he laughs somewhere around her chest,

"You did. I worry, but I like not hiding."

[chrysopteron]

"I like knowing. Call it selfish."

[balancingminds]

"I understand," Knowing is a major part of his mutation.

[chrysopteron]

"Enough talk. Hmm?"

[balancingminds]

"Yes,"

He leans forward to nip at her lip before pulling her towards him, sharing his sense of joy and the heat of his desire.

[chrysopteron]

I made him this way. He is this way because of me.

Iris takes him with her hand, lost in his expression rather than action, and the heat of his mind as well as his body --





When they meet, Iris lets out a string of Greek that Charles may or may not be able to piece together.

[balancingminds]

He's allowing himself to surrender to his feelings and keep them open to her, he hears the Greek and tries to remember it.

Though truly it gets lost in the midst of everything else, because he's never been this open before in this way and it's wonderful.

Charles is staggering to Iris now - hearing him, being witness to his mind in this.

And all of it is her.

All gasps and quickness, "Charles -- "

His response is motion and thoughts of Iris!, they're decently coherent but on the edges of something else.

He's trusting her with his feelings and his mind as he enjoys pleasure, its new and wonderful and overwhelming.

Iris arches down into him and comes panting against Charles' neck.

But she's still listening, and his heart could go faster higher harder Charles --

He feels the edges of her coming and cries out, clutching her to his body as he holds onto control with the edges of himself.

Her skin is flushed, her wings are in his hands and she is, she is herself.

There's the space between them, a tiny space as they are.

Iris takes a few steadying breaths and smiles at Charles, putting one hand on either side of his jaw.

"Are you alright?"

[balancingminds]

His answer is internal not external, thoughts are far easier than words, Yes, I am. That was strange and wonderful.

He pants as he gathers himself, his control is strong but for a moment he seemed to touch her colors with his thoughts.

Iris hears him still --

-- and doesn't mind it.

She leans forward to kiss his left temple before shifting minutely so that he might right himself if he wished.
